why dont i have foreign trade routes? i have open borders and have sailing discovered. but i dont get foreign trade routes with my neighbour? why? i have a city at the shore and so have my neighbour.

The trade route system was adjusted for the BTS expansion...I don't have any routes currently, either.  I believe you need sailing, in order to trade along rivers and water routes, whereas previously rivers were automatically trade routes from the start.

Maybe someone else might have insight to share on this too?

anybody an answer??? did i just researched sailing for nothing??? I only researched sailing for the foreign trade routes and to connect to their network.

i think i found the answer.
now i have a new question: where is the oracle gone? it was together with priesthood. Is it erased in BTS?

Wonders being destroyed, holy cities being leveled...four civs are abandoned to the AI, and three are completely eliminated.

All this, and we have barely cracked 2000 BC.

So much for the civility portion of Chaos and Civility   Grin

Actually the barbarians killed off Draconis who lived on the island too..

By the way, I think open borders are required for foreign trade routes.

OK problem solved. i had to discover all coast tiles between me and my neigbour!!!! now extra income for me!!!! Grin
