General Zhu Khav announces some good news to the people of Wei ...

"People of Wei,

"You have endured much hardship in this war against the Founder Alliance, against 'The Path of Tyrrany and Destruction'.  You have endured the evacuation and destruction of our easternmost settlements at the outset of the war.  You have endured the evacuation and destruction of our beloved city of Feng.  You have endured the evacuation and the capture of our most beautiful city of Song.

"Many of you may have wondered why our army retreated to permit these events to happen.  Others of you knew that we faced the awesome power of the Founder artillery weapon, and numerous riflemen and grenadiers.  Some of you knew that against such a foe, we had to fight at the time and place of our chosing.

"A great battle has been fought in the hills north of the city of Song, the hills that we know as the Singing Hills.  For the Founder Alliance, we have made them the Wailing Hills.  The combined forces of Greece, Carolingia, and Wei converged on a substantial FA force in those hills, and we are happy to report the near to complete anihilation of that FA force.

"The first wave of our assault was conducted by the Greeks.  The catapults we have been building for their use were brought to bear, to bombard the forces on the hill.  The other Greek forces pressed the attack, killing many and leaving wounded survivors.

"The next part of the operation fell to we Weians.  Three units of the Terra Cotta Army, operating to secure the northern theatre, moved to our jungle staging area, attacked and killed three units on the hill, then prepared defenses in the jungle to deter a counterattack by our foe.  The bulk of our Traditional Forces (or the Terra Firma Army), reinforced the jungle area to prepare for possible conterattack.

"The final phase fell to the Carolingians, who moved to the jungle base and killed a substantial number of the wounded FA troops.  The exact final tally of the allied and enemy losses is not yet available.

"While Wei does not possess the technology to build the most advanced weapons, we have used what we know to great advantage.  Our catapults, in the hands of the Greeks, were essential to the success of the operation in the Singing Hills.  And our War Elephant Battalion was successful in engaging and killing a French Mobile Recon Battalion consisting of two musketeers and nine knights, just prior to the Battle of the Singing Hills.  This was accomplished with the loss of only 3 catapults.

"We see this victory as the first step in the stabilization of the Northern East Front.  The relentless march westward of the FA through Wei has been halted.  This marks the end of the begining."

Zhu Khav, General in Chief of Wei

General Zhu Khav announces further progress to the people of Wei ...

(The people of Wei have been known as the CHURDs (pronounced "Kurds"), which stands for the "Common and High Underlings of the Regal Dynasty".  This abbreviation adorns the standards of the Weian army, much as SPQR does for the Roman armies.  And leads to the following salutation:)

"CHURDS of Wei,  (If you did not already know, Wei is pronounced "Way", or in this case, Whey  Cheesy)

"I rejoice to bring you more good news from the battlefield.  As a result of our great victory at the Battle of the Singing Hills, our enemy found the city of Song to be indefensible, and retreated from it.  We have reoccupied our beautiful city of Song, and our music once more flourishes there.  The retreat of our foe also has allowed us to resettle New Fang, on the site of our former eastern outpost of Fang.

"The restoration of the Wei Dynasty is nearly complete!"

Zhu Khav, General in Chief of Wei
