Hey everyone.

Just from looking at the Civstats from the last turn I believe the turn order is something like this:

1 - da_Vinci
2 - Fosse/Levgre
3 - Carolus Maltman
4 - Rennald Skarsgard
5 - IanDC
6 - DribNairb
7 - bjarkekr

WarningU2, Grenock, Hoplosternum - Huh

With that in mind, I assume I'll be able to move first on any given turn, since it seems that my alliance is before the other alliance.  I imagine that turn order needn't be kept so strict that it goes by player, but that it can instead go by faction.  But please, if I'm wrong let me know and I'll observe whatever order everyone has agreed to.

-Fosse

PS.  Whoever is admin... could you please kick Levgre from Civstats so I can claim his civ over there, and get turn notifications?  Thanks!

The turn order can play by faction rather than specific players.

So at the moment it's:
Fosse/Maltman/WarningU2 (in any order) to play first. If you login once and need to login again after one of your allies has played that's fine, but please post a message here so we know to wait until you've logged in again.

After that it's:
DribNairb/IanDC/Bjarkekr/Grenlock/Hoplosternum (in any order). Theoretically once one of us has played our turn you shouldn't be logging in again (since you could perform a double move) and we shouldn't ever login before all 3 of you have played for the same reason. In practice though it doesn't really matter as long as none of us move units near the front line in this situation.

For example, we've often logged in before WarningU2 because he (now Roll Eyes) has no units near where the fighting takes place and can't always login until near the end of the turn timer.

The full set of game rules is at http://www.chaosciv.com/index.php/topic,255.0.html but it's a long thread. If you ever need to login more than once or play out of turn it's usually going to be ok - just post a message to explain what's going on.

Sounds great.  I'll point out here that the logins I've been doing after your turn have been merely to study the situation. I haven't made any moves yet.

If I understand this correctly we're observing double moves, but not strictly sequential moves.  What I mean by that is that if A and B are allied against C, it sounds like A could log in, bombard a city.  Then B logs in, attacks with collateral damage agains teh same city.  Then A logs back in and takes the city with swordsmen.  As long as this all happens before (or after) C logs in.

That's not strictly sequential, but it sounds okay by the quickie description you gave.

Welcome, Fosse.  Looks like you're squared away for CivStats.

And yes, your interpretation of the turn orders are correct.  In your scenario, A & B can log in as many times as they like, before their opposing faction (C) does.  Once C logs in, A & B are no longer permitted to log in again (including for observing, as there's no way for other placers to know whether A & B were moving any units).

Again, welcome!

Yes, I assumed that  Grin

As for the A & B scenario - the only thing I'd ask is that if you do need to login a second time you post a message on the boards to let the rest of us know (even if you don't actually end your turn it often looks like a player just forgot to press Enter). That way we don't accidentally login too early.
