The Good Ship Promise

Silently, the battered Founders ship known as Promise floated towards land. After a long and treacherous journey the crew were down to a mere handful of survivors. Washed out to sea during a skirmish with the dokko the ship lost course and sailed with the currents to lands afar.

Now, weak with hunger and thirst The Founders crew hopes that the strange-sounding people of Scotland will aid them.

Welcome to Scotland!

We had heard rumours of strange peoples drifting across the ocean but now I see that they are true.  We welcome you crew to our lands and invite them to come and sample a dram or two of our finest Scottish whisky.  We will send a case back with them for your people back home.

Thank you also for your offer of trade.  As you may be aware, Scotland knows has not yet mastered even the secrets of fishing, so open borders would bring us no trade benefit, but if your merchants would be prepared to bring a generous selection of their spices and other exotic wares in their ships, we will offer you our finest Scottish Beef, rice, and of course, some of that infamous pirate gold    And of course as part of the deal your mechants will receive the right to establish lucrative overseas trade routes with our numerous cities throughout our lands.

We are happy you have found us and wish you well on your onwards passage.

We thank you for your kind offer. While we are quite willing to share our 'exotic' wares with you it is our policy not to provide resources which can be used in a military manner. The gold you talk about is most interesting, but we already have trades for the other wares on offer.
Therefore I have written a counter proposal which I am sure you will be happy with.
