I felt I needed to post a formal response to the crys of outrage and protests outside our embassy, concerning our trade with Oyzar.

Yes we need trade iron with Oyzar for a healthy sum of cash.  It is helping us research tech and is much appreciated.   I know nothing of the conflict or what it is about.  My only concern is the almighty dollar and benefitting our people.   I will always prostitute myself in the name of the people.   Where do I bend over?   Tongue

All that said ... In support of the protests I have closed borders with Oyzar however it will have no effect as the deal cannot be cancelled for 9  turns.

We can appreciate that you may not have been fully aware of the situation - the need for secrecy was obviously paramount in the coalition's endeavour. Therefore we do not feel there is any need for immediate recourse.

However, now you have the facts you must consider the consequences should you not reverse your actions. Pledge your complete allegiance to The Truth and declare war on the enemy. You will enjoy greater prosperity and share in the benefits of the One when following The Path.

Failure to do so will only mean you are grouped with blasphemous leaders. History has shown what happens to such nations...

I trust you will make the correct decision. Do not delay or your actions may be taken as deceitful.

There is no such treaty. We have said, since the dawn of time, that those who follow The Path will gain. Those who seek to undermine it will be destroyed. No other treaty with the dokko or any other nation was in place when war was declared. Had they not sought to incite war between followers of The One, and not insulted the elders with a bare tribute this may not have happened.

But the current situation has been foretold since ancient times. Any allies of the enemy will share their fate.

The Founders speak only The Truth. If you do not follow The Truth you are against it.

While he do speak big words the truth is that the founders can't break through the masses of dokko peaople armed with fresh american maces to defend their homes. The french armada was already turned into dust and the founders are sure to follow. The people of the dokko are strong and will proudly fight on...

Truths and Paths and talks about The One ... the American council has decided to review the issues at hand and wait one more turn for a final decision on the continued trade of iron to Oyzar.

Skarsgardia has helped wipe out nations for a less infraction against it.  I will suggest you decide quickly before my Horde decides to come north.

Yeah because if you don't go against a nation 4 against 1 when that nation have metal have metal you can't win... Sounds scary to me... As long as americans keep trading me metal you are not particulary scary...

OOC: How is the trade still going ahead? From what I can tell there is no trade route left between Dokko and America?

OOC: As far as I know there are closed borders everywhere between their lands. Or do rivers still carry trade even when borders are closed?

We continue to trade until a better offer comes.  We do not react to threats only the almighty dollar for it is king.   We favour no nation and would willing stop trade of iron if someone makes it worth my while.   When so much riches exist in the world and we cry for knowledge ... why should I deny this to my people?

I think closed borders of nations in between does not stop the trade.  Only wars do.  So all civs between WarningU2 and Oyzar, would have to all be at war against Oyzar, or all against war at WarningU2.
