OCC:

Interesting to who :p It seems you are trying to point out that I am ahead in tech also(which I am sure people are aware of)?  That they should attack me and not you?  Although my tech my tech rate was still much lower than yours, and you had about 6 techs on me. I don't even have metal casting or Iron working, although that's due to my music detour, also, and obviously it wouldn't take very long to get them.  But I am still far away from rifles or any other such dominating unit.

I think Drib has been able to watch my research so he knows what I am on, and you can check what I have in foreign advisor.

Also I converted those estimates to normal speed since people play that more often (my Great People cost 1800 now, not the 1200 I put in that thread, the 50 turn estimate would be 75 for turns for epic), and none were really more than rough predictions about middle games, not specific to CCII.  I haven't really calculated predictions for my long-term research.  So if you are going to look at that thread for info about my civ, I'm sorry but you won't get much more than is already available for all to see in the game.

I could certainly get to early industrial era in 75 though, as I have one renaissance tech, I could beeline scientific method, for example... I'd only need calendar, sailing, and astronomy, then Sci. Method.  The path to rifling is much longer for me right now (monarchy, feudalism, metal casting, machinery, guilds, banking, gunpowder, printing press, replaceable parts, rifling).

But the bigger strategical things were the distance, that I was on the other side of the continent and not sharing borders, that I have an army to protect myself anyways, and because I wasn't approaching riflemen.  I wouldn't be very surprised if my time came later.  There was already one such attempt and I don't expect it to be the last.

Are you sure?  I have ice this time around, too, so I'll gladly ship some to you.  I'm sure our ice is superior!  Cheesy
