Time.  Dirt.  Toil.  Dirt.  Landlocked.  Dirt.  Nothing but dirt and forests and swamps for as far as the eye could see.  Dreams of the past.  Dreams of something more than this barren existence they’d been living for so long.  With the establishment of the settlement at Port Royale, they knew the day was close…the dreams could become reality.  Grown men stood in silence as the keel was laid.   Womenfolk wept as the sails were sown.  Children stopped their play and watched the masts being raised into place.  Finally, the day had come.  It seemed as though the entire nation had come to the docks to be a part of history.  There was no cheering.  No parade.  No band.  No champagne.  The crowd stood silent and resolute.

With but a whisper, the Campeche vessel The Pride slid gently into the cold, black, water.  The Pirates had returned to the seas.

Leonardo watched approvingly as the wind filled the sails of The Pride and she ventured out of the harbor.  As King Agamemnoff's representative to the event, Leonardo turned to King Lafitte and nodded, acknowledging the deserved pride of the people of Campeche.

Leonardo thought on Yourcenae's role in this important event for this seafaring people.  Port Royale occupies the previous Hennan "Port of Swine", which had been land of contention between Yourcenae and Henna.  Campeche and Yourcenae had established a border agreement when first they met, which predates written history, and had both proven their trustworthyness by complying with it, even when aggressive opportunities were available to both sides.

Leonardo smiled inwardly as he recalled his discussions with Normalseus, to offer Campeche the site of "Port of Swine" as their long sought after link to the sea, in exchange for Campeche's cooperation in containing Henna and saving Rohan from destruction.  Yourcenae already had two other ports, and land north and east to settle.

So in exchange for relinquishing Yourcenaean claims to the lands of "Port of Swine", Yourcenae obtained an ally to repel Henna, and a peaceful southern neighbor instead of an aggressive one.  "A pretty piece of diplomacy", Leonardo thought to himself.
