Civ available to take over: AFsoccer

AFsoccer just informed me that he will be retiring from Chaos and Civility.  If anyone knows of someone who will be interested in taking over for him, please let me (and/or him) know immediately.

I will be turning AFsoccer's civ over to the AI later today.

Should Maltman take this turn for AF maybe?  AFSoccer is in a position where his army needs to retreat... since they are in a military alliance anyways.

So no sub?  This kind of puts me in a pickle, because it messes up my military plans to take a city of  AFSoccer's, unless I destroy his army which is sitting there without command. 
And delaying the attack is detrimental because I am being attacked on the other side of my land and need to send the units back to reinforce soon.

I'm going to take my turn now, but will abstain from making military moves, in the case that someone can still take over for  AFSoccer and have his army retreat (and then after that I'll move my military).  I don't think anyone would want to take over with most of Carthage's units dead.

I did contact a few people to invite them to take over, but have not heard back from any as yet.

For now, we will just have to play with that civ as AI, I'm afraid.

Boy you are a gentleman.  Most people could care less and just continue on with your on slaught.  Really though, I feel you are in the right.  Its not your fault that AF Soccer quit, so you shouldnt worry about it too much.  Continue on with your moves.  It is war after all.

I play pitboss to fight humans, not AIs :p  The AI didnt retreat at all, so it would have lost about 17 units and I'd have lost about 4-5(mostly catapults, maybe no elephants).  Then I could've easily taken over several Carthaginian cities.

What ended up happening is all involved parties signed a 10 turn peace treaty.  The AI was very receptive for peace since his score is less(even got him to adopt buddhism in the trade), and it was still only 'annoyed' with me, not furious.  So Maltman didn't have much choice at that point, with his alliance member in a 10 turn treaty so it was 1 on 1.

Having looked at your thread a month ago but deciding I would not like to participate (as well as not being good enough) I have been looking at the chaos and civility forums and now seeing that there is a empty civ available I am very willing to join in. However I am still waiting admin approval and so would be very greatful if you would post on my behalf stating my interest.

As a bit of civ info I would rate myself very low, feeling a bit out of my depth even at noble. I have been going through the Civ Fanatics forums reading guides in an attempt to improve my game and have joined the BtS MTDG (how I saw the link) and would love to play a large multiplayer game on my own, especially with such a strong roleplay element.

Although I am more of a peaceful player preferring building and diplomacy I would be more than willing to play as carthage, safe in the knowledge I wouldn't be declared on ommediately (reading carthages current situation)

Well Carthage is pretty small right now so I think he could handle it well if he tried(like was reading on the forums for questions he had), perhaps whoever ended up in alliances with him could give military advice.

His first actions as the new leader could be taking diplomatic actions to promote peace with the Greeks.  We would like some wine ;p
