Due to the invasion of Canada by the Greeks we suspend relations with Greece and have ejected their ambassador.

Our borders are now closed to Greece.

You are free to do as you wish and we commend you for living up to your convictions, but you are making the Greeks increasingly concerned that the Americans will invade Greek lands to assist the Canadians.

If you want to assuage our fears, we would ask that you to fill this request:

Move the majority of your units in New York 2 spaces back, so we can be assured you cannot enter Greek lands in such a short time, but you will still be able to move them back to New York in a turn if needed.

As the bulk of Greece's army is in the north, where your scouts are observing. It is blatantly obvious that there is no large threat to the city of New York. Your large army serves no purpose in being there, except for making you capable of a quick strike against Thebes.

If you do not move the majority of those units back (except for some to defend, in the case that you are worried about a quick cavalry strike, although we insist there is no reason to fear), we will take at as an aggressive act and the Americans wanting to prepare for a potential invasion of Greece.

Let me be clear .

You do not dictate terms of what our troops do in our own lands.

We will garrison our cities if we so desire.

That seems shortsighted of you.  This is the other reality of your statement.

"We will place the majority of our units right near your border, as we desire."

It seems you have given up any attempt at good will.

Huh!   What do we have to offer good will for?

You gave up good will when you invaded Canada.

You act as if the two of you are one and the same countries, when previously all you said is you were trading partners.

It seems quite curious?

We declared war on them instead of you, even though your land is much more fertile and your country is more accessible to ours,  because we considered you friends.

I'm hurt, Glaukos, that you didn't consider me your friend... after me sending your kids Birthday gifts and all that.  That hurts more than the invasion.   Cry

OOC:

No more selfish than many countries throughout history.  Right now the Greeks are acting more akin to the Medieval, etc. countries,  or I suppose you could say like modern America (at the minimum, at times in the 18th-19th century).

But yeah, it's selfish :p.  Some nations are relatively close to being selfless nowadays..  But at least historically the selfless (or less selfish) ones were often conquered Wink
