Barbaric acts

In recent days we have seen a fiercesome group of warriors wandering the jungle near our borders. They move with great speed and my scouts have been unable to keep up. From what little we have seen and heard they appear to be aligned to the Carolingian tribe.

However, just recently a small number of these warriors, dressed in black, broke off and strayed into our city borders. I assured the villagers that there was no need to panic as Carolus Maltman is a peaceful leader and would never allow barbaric acts in his name.

I was wrong.

My archers moved in and punishment was swift, but the small cottages only recently erected were destroyed.

I will not make the same mistake again. Any acts of aggression or perceived aggression will be met in kind. Let this be a warning to any 'civilizations' who dare to challenge the might of The One heir to this world: The Founders

Let us assure you that these warriors are not the loyal junglemen of Theudebald, who you saw walking on your borders. We have been sighting some of these barbaric hordes who lurk in the dark jungles - and our archers dispatch them when they come to close to our own borders. One of our scouting parties far to the southwest has fallen victim to them as well. A sad day indeed.

Theudebald and his men have journeyed far to the west in pursuit of some of these vile barbaric warriors, and will join with you to stamp out the threat to our peaceful nations.

We have more reports of 2 groups barbarian warriors inside our borders. If, as you claim, these warriors are not under the command of Carolus Maltman then who is responsible?

As Leader I am required to issue vengeance upon any who attempt to harm The Founders. Further investigations will be made. Be assured, the culprit would be wise to come forward immediately rather than await our wrath.

Your fight is our fight - we pledge to fight these black-garbed jungle warriors whenever and wherever we find them.

They seem to have hunted down all the beasts which used to plague the depths of the jungle.

I will reserve judgement in the issue until I have more information. While you claim to fighting the black warriors, my people have only ever reported your presence whenever they have been attacked by them. This also applies to the beasts of the jungle - when we have been attacked a member of the Carolonius tribe is never far away.

While this is not damning evidence, it certainly arouses suspicions. Be warned, we will keep a close eye on you.

Your scouts are misinformed at this point. Theudebald and his warriors have journeyed far from your lands - we are on the border of your neighbour now, yet you still report incursions by the barbaric warriors that are our common enemy. The relationship is spurious at best.
