We have been forced to declare war on New Avalon as one of there cities is claiming land from our city.  We cannot allow this.  Elkad has been sent a letter directly from Viktor, and we hope this issue gets resolved before blood is shed.

Through no designs of our own, the simple herdsmen in the pastures north of Aylissa have taken to trading with us, instead of the nearer Agarthian city of Eagleton.  Whether that is thru some slight by the Agarthian government, or simply prettier girls in Aylissa, we did not know.  If the efforts of Agarthia had been bent on making Eagleton a more pleasant place to live, perhaps the residents of the surrounding land would still choose the shorter route to trade.

The settlement of Aylissa was not even a remote outpost, having been built within our own borders,  at the halfway point between our other villages.  It guards the trade route between our other cities.  Now Agarthian troops threaten it, and the link between our other villages, demanding we surrender our homes to their rule.  Even if we did, what says that Agarthian aggression will not impose restrictions on trade between our other villages in the future.  Dividing our empire is madness.

Avalon will defend its land.  The people of Aylissa barricade themselves along the hillside, while reinforcements rush north to aid them.  We urge the Agarthian troops to return to their homes and pursue more peaceful endeavors.

Yes, the pretty girls there did attract us.  Eagleton is an outpost right now mostly made up of soldiers, so rumors of women did attract us.  However, it was the border incursion of your borders expanding into our lands.  I am pleased to announce that an agreement has been made between our nations.  Our troops will stand down, but a peace treaty has not been made yet.  Once the agreements that were made have been completed, we will set a treaty with you.
