We look forward to the common good between our people.  It seems that our origins may have been linked in the past or in a dream of some other world.  Our elders had spoke of Dernish people, but not of this world.  Visions?  But here we are now talking to you.  Please accept this gift of friendship Vali.

Greetings, sir Rid, and welcome to the Southlands!

I do not recall having met your kind before, but I will take your word for it.  Certainly, that is far from the most fanciful claim I have heard lately.

Beware, traveler, of evil spirits lurking in the mountains and woods.  We pursued one such demon only recently, through the open Central Drylands south of where you are now.  If you run into it, I recommend killing the Demon of Hismes on sight.  Hesitate, and you may become a victim yourself.

Until then, please enjoy the amenities of our humble harvest.  To our south, you will find the Tribes of Henna amidst the Hennan Basin.  They are a maternal society--quite strange, but friendly to us.  Just don't make any sexist jokes, or you may find yourself unable to procreate. 

Further south, you will meet the Rohirrim.  We have had our clashes with them over border disputes in the past, but have been in an uneasy truce for many decades.  No formal peace treaty has ever been signed, but we have largely kept out of each others' way.
