Rise of Scotland- A Play, in an Act

Roles to be played:

d.Edinburgh- A noble, crowned Despot of Edinburgh
d.Glasgow- A large, coarse, gruff man, crowned Despot of Glasgow
An Old Man- A cloaked and stooped man.

Act One, Scene one- in which the Despots of Glasgow and Edinburgh (d.Glasgow and d.Edinburgh, respectively) meet to discuss an alliance due to events that may come, and the Scotch Federation is formed.
Code:
d.Glasgow:    A fishman walking from most western hill,
of Glasgow, to Endinburgh's coastline,
thinking only of feeding his fam'ly
walks in fear of being hurt by "natives".
Why do your people strike us, Edinburgh?

d.Edinburgh:  A hunter walking from coastal regions,
to forests in your large territory,
recieves persecution from Glasweigans.
Do the two cross paths and strike each other?

d.Glasgow:    Was I brought here merely to be made fool?

d.Edinburgh:  Glasgow, I fear you do to me that which
I am accused. (d.Edinburgh now walks to the door, at opens
                                            it revealing an Old Man)

Old Man:                    Sirs, listen to me now.
I have walked from coastal Edinburgh,
I have walked the most western 'Weigan hills,
I have been struck and, oft persecuted,
because of where I hail from.

d.Edinburgh:    Where? from where?

Old Man:      I am from neither Glasgow, nor your state.
I come from the land, I live on the land.
I have done great services to the land.
Do you know where I wish be laid to rest?

d.Glasgow: (aside)    Another waster of time makes me fool.
No, old man. Where will you be at your ending?

Old Man:      I wish to die in a unified state.
A state which will defend from attackers.
A state which should stand the test of all time.
An awesome civilisation- Scotland.

(d.Edinburgh and d.Glasgow both shake hands, and are shown signing a treaty, creating the Scotch Federation)

Any OOC opinions appreciated. Do you like this extra info on Scotland? I enjoyed writing it. Anyone enjoy reading? Tongue

OOC:  A playwright in our midst!  How cool is that?

I enjoyed your opening act--very poetic and yet poignant.  I'm hoping I can infer that this means the Scots will be a peaceful, culturally-progressive people and not the warmongers I fear them to be. ;P

Looking forward to reading future installations of this play.
