Hi everybody,

I have build the Apostolic Palace. But i dont really understand how it works. I read some things on the forums and the civilopedia but i dont get it yet. Here are some things i dont understand:

Where can i see how many votes i have?
Can make a resolution and how? or do resolutions come by them self?

I think you all want Judaism missionairs now!!!! Wink

You see the number of votes only after a resolution has been suggested and voted upon. It comes up with the result (passed/failed) along with who voted what. I don't think you can find out beforehand. However, I believe only you, me and Levgree have any Judaism cities at the moment so we're the only ones who can vote at all for now.

The resolutions themselves come up as options for you to choose every once in a while (I think it's something like every 20 turns but I don't really know). The resolutions depend on your current situation - eg. if a Judaism civ is at war then you can suggest all other civs declare war on their enemy.

A lot of the time there aren't many options, at least in my experience - but then that's only been in single player.

thx a lot. this helps me great deal.
another question:

In the civilopedia it says that when you defy a resolution you get penaltys but what if you just say no or abstain? Do you get penalties too? and if not why whould someone defy a resolution insteed of saying no. Then the results are the same but you dont get the penalties. Or i m a wrong about this?

If the resolution is against you - then you can defy, and not let it happen to you, even if the others have the votes.

As far as I know you get no penalties for voting no, but if you defy a resolution you are supposed to get a penalty. Not sure what the penalty is though - I think it's just "other civs don't like you as much" which only makes sense against the AI. With human players I don't know what happens...

If you defy a resolution you also lose the benefits of having the religion of the Palace (as your state religion?) - no +1H for those religious buildings.

Aaah i see so if i defy a resolution i stop the resolution even if i dont have the most votes.
And for the penalty: you also get an unhappyness penalty in your cities. I though it was 5 unhappyness but i m not sure.

well, as the owner of the palace, I don't believe you have the option of defying a resolution;  you can just not forward a resolution to vote, if you don't want it.

I think, anyway.
